Resetting Your Sonos Device: A Clean Slate

Sonos devices sometimes need a fresh start to resolve glitches or connectivity issues. Here's a guide to factory reset your Sonos device, depending on its model:

General Steps (For Most Sonos Devices):
  1.  Power Down:  Unplug the power cord from your Sonos device.
  2.  Locate the Reset Button:  The button for factory reset varies depending on your Sonos model. Here's a quick reference:
    • Sonos One, Play:1-5, Connect, Amp: Join Button (may have arrows or infinity symbol)
    • Sonos Playbar, Beam, Arc: Play/Pause Button
    • Sonos Era 100/300: Bluetooth Button
    • Sonos Roam/SL: Power Button (back of device)
  3. Hold Reset Button:  While holding the designated reset button, reconnect the power cord to your Sonos device.
  4. Keep Holding: Continue holding the reset button until the status light starts flashing a specific pattern (usually orange and white). Refer to your model's manual for the exact light sequence.
  5. Reset Complete: Once the light flashes green (or another designated color based on your model), the factory reset is complete. Your Sonos device is now ready to be set up again.

Additional Resources:

 After Resetting:
  • Download and install the Sonos app on your mobile device
  • Follow the on-screen instructions in the Sonos app to set up your Sonos device again. This includes connecting it to your Wi-Fi network and adding it to your Sonos system.
