Replacing the Battery in a TX-E201 Door/Window Sensor

The TX-E201 door/window sensor uses a single 3V lithium CR2032 battery. Here's how to replace it:

Tools Needed:

  • Small flat-head screwdriver (optional)

Steps:

  1. Remove the sensor from the mounting bracket. Slide the sensor up or down to release it, depending on its orientation.

  2. Slide the back cover down to remove it. Use your finger or the flat-head screwdriver to pry it open gently.

  3. Locate the battery. It will be nestled in a small compartment inside the sensor.

  4. Gently remove the battery. You may need to use the screwdriver to pry it out carefully.

  5. Insert the new battery with the positive (+) side facing up.

  6. Replace the back cover. Slide it back into place until it clicks shut.

  7. Reattach the sensor to the mounting bracket. Slide it back onto the bracket until it snaps into place.

Testing the Sensor:

Once you've replaced the battery, test the sensor to ensure it's working properly. Open and close the door or window, and the sensor should activate, sending a signal to your alarm system. If the sensor is not working, check that the battery is inserted correctly and that the back cover is closed securely. You may also need to reprogram the sensor to your alarm panel.

Additional Tips:

  • It is recommended to replace the battery in your TX-E201 sensor every 5-8 years, or sooner if the sensor starts chirping or frequently goes offline.
  • Always use a new CR2032 battery when replacing the old one.
  • Dispose of used batteries responsibly at a designated electronic waste recycling center.
