Replacing the Battery in a PowerG PG9303 Door/Window Sensor
The PowerG PG9303 door/window sensor uses a single CR2450 3-volt lithium battery. Here's how to replace it:
Tools Needed:
- Small flat-head screwdriver
Steps:
Identify the tabs on the sides of the sensor. These are located near the top and bottom of the sensor.
Insert the flat-head screwdriver into one of the tabs. Gently twist the screwdriver to pry open the cover.
Repeat step 2 for the other tab. The cover should now be loose enough to remove.
Lift the cover off the sensor. Be careful not to disconnect any wires.
Locate the battery. It will be nestled in a small compartment inside the sensor.
Use the flat-head screwdriver to gently pry the battery out of the compartment.
Insert the new battery. Make sure the positive (+) side is facing up.
Carefully place the cover back onto the sensor. Make sure the tabs are aligned properly.
Press down on the cover until it snaps closed.
Test the sensor to ensure it's working properly. Open and close the door or window, and the sensor should activate, sending a signal to your alarm system. If the sensor is not working, check that the battery is inserted correctly and that the cover is closed securely. You may also need to reprogram the sensor to your alarm panel.
Additional Tips:
- It is recommended to replace the battery in your PowerG PG9303 sensor every 5-7 years, or sooner if the sensor starts chirping or frequently goes offline.
- Always use a new CR2450 battery when replacing the old one.
- Dispose of used batteries responsibly at a designated electronic waste recycling center.
