Replacing the Battery in an Interlogix TX-1012 Micro Door/Window Sensor

The TX-1012 micro door/window sensor uses a single 3V lithium CR2032 battery. Here's how to replace it:

Tools Needed:

  • Small flat-head screwdriver (optional)

Steps:

  1. Locate the small slot on the side of the sensor. This is where you'll insert the screwdriver to pry open the case.
  2. Insert the flat-head screwdriver into the slot and twist gently to open the case. Be careful not to break the plastic.
  3. Once the case is open, remove the old battery. It will be located inside the sensor.
  4. Insert the new battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  5. Snap the case back onto the sensor.Make sure it's closed securely.
  6. Test the sensor to ensure it's working properly. Open and close the door or window, and the sensor should activate, sending a signal to your alarm system. If the sensor is not working, check that the battery is inserted correctly and that the case is closed securely. You may also need to reprogram the sensor to your alarm panel.

Additional Tips:

  • It is recommended to replace the battery in your TX-1012 sensor every 3-5 years, or sooner if the sensor starts chirping or frequently goes offline.
  • Always use a new CR2032 battery when replacing the old one.
  • Dispose of used batteries responsibly at a designated electronic waste recycling center.
